Zachary
Zachary is a 5 year old who was born with Neurofibromatosis Type 1. NF1 is a rare genetic disorder that is characterized of findings of café-au-lait spots, skeletal dysplasias, and by the growth of both benign and malignant nervous system tumors.
Zachary's first tumor was found April 2017. His tumor is located on the optic chiasm on the brain. It is called an optic chiasm glioma. This tumor affects both eyes but currently causing vision loss in his right eye. Zachary also suffers from hearing loss and is considerably developmentally delayed. Zachary has come so far in life, doing things doctors said he never would. Things like walking and talking.
Considering all that Zachary has been through, he always has a smile on his face and his laugh is contagious. Zachary loves his tablet and loves his 5 brothers and baby sister. Zachary's wish is to go to Disney, to meet Minnie and Mickey Mouse.
